On this week's WWE Smackdown, you will find superstars coming from the RAW roster, as Smackdown lacking talents in their roster. Also, Madcap Moss will return and you may also find many build up for the coming pay-per view of Hell in a Cell.
WWE SmackDown on FOX will broadcast live from the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio, the Hell In a Cell go-home edition. As of this writing, the only thing announced for tonight’s SmackDown is the return of Madcap Moss, who was eliminated by Happy Baron Corbin a few weeks ago. Moss is believed to be back tonight with a new appearance or gimmick, although this has yet to be confirmed. Tonight’s episode will feature RAW Superstars AJ Styles and The Miz. Styles versus. Miz is set to be the likely dark main event at the venue. Roman Reigns, the undisputed WWE Universal Champion, is not slated to appear tonight, but Drew McIntyre, The New Day, and the undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions are. According to WWE and the arena website, the Usos are. Ronda Rousey, the SmackDown Women’s Champion, will also be in attendance.
This weekend marks the release of Hell in a Cell 2022. There are now six official matches scheduled for the card, however none of them include members of the SmackDown roster. Is this truly a pay-per-view (PPV) go-home event if the show contributes zero bouts to the PPV? At this time, it appears like three possible matches involving SmackDown wrestlers might still be added to Sunday night’s show at the last minute.
The Usos face Matt Riddle and Shinsuke Nakamura for the undisputed WWE tag team championships. According to the current speculations, this match will be kept for the Money in the Bank card next month, although things might change. The next matchup pits Happy Corbin against Madcap Moss. Since Happy wounded him with the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal trophy, Madcap has been off the air. Moss is set to return tonight, presumably with a new show and/or gimmick. A grudge match between these two appears to be a feasible Hell in a Cell bout.

Lastly, there’s Ricochet vs. Gunther, the Intercontinental Champion. Over the previous few weeks, WWE has been teasing this one. The match will go place; the only question is if it will be scheduled in time for Hell in a Cell. It’s possible that Hell in a Cell will remain a brand-exclusive PPV and none of these matches will be put to the card. If that’s the case, WWE will be sending the incorrect message to its fans, effectively admitting that they aren’t prepared to put in the bare minimal effort to book a compelling PPV card via television.
