The name CM Punk evokes a reaction from any WWE fan. Some may like him and some may hate him but they just can’t ignore him. The Chicago native has captivated fans throughout his career and has given us some great memories to cherish and look back upon.

From his infamous pipebomb promo to his 434-day reign as WWE Champion, Punk has done it all. He is also one of the best wrestlers on the mic. When he talks, people listen and more often than not, they love every bit of it. He is also a very polarising person and that is why it should come as no surprise that he has had some intense rivalries over the years. In this article, we take a look at some of them.

John Cena

This is the rivalry that made CM Punk into who he is today. His now-infamous pipebomb promo was cut when he was feuding the John Cena. In essence, Cena was the perfect opponent for Punk. A wrestler who was given everything vs a wrestler who had to earn and struggle for everything. The Straight Edge superstar also took shots at Triple H and Vince McMahon too and that made this rivalry even more intense.

The two men had an unforgettable match at Money in the Bank in 2011 when Punk won the WWE title. The fans loved everything about the match and the rivalry as both men shared unbelievable chemistry together in the ring.

Chris Jericho

When Chris Jericho returned in 2012, he came back as a heel and was hell-bent on speaking trash to everyone. Y2J revealed that he was longing to make life more miserable for CM Punk because he calls himself the “best in the world.”

Jericho went to great lengths to tick off Punk and even made things personal by attacking his straight-edge lifestyle. That led to the feud becoming quite heated. Punk retained the WWE title and in the process provided great entertainment along the way.

Jeff Hardy

The rivalry between CM Punk and Jeff Hardy was one time when the Straight Edge superstar took things a bit fat. After his heel turn, Punk brought his straight edge persona and targetted Jeff Hardy who was known for having issues with substance abuse.

This was Punk’s first major run as a main event superstar and he hit it out of the park. Both men traded the World title among themselves until Punk won the feud in a ladder match.
