Gable Stevenson is now set to join the WWE full time after finishing his college wrestling career on March 19 and winning the NCAA Championship in the process. The RAW brand drafted Stevenson in the 2021 WWE Draft with the plan being for him to make his debut at WrestleMania 38.

The excitement must have got to the youngster because, in a now deleted tweet, Stevenson accidentally revealed that he will be at WrestleMania. He tweeted, “Also, I will be at #WrestleMania.. It’s time!!”

Gable confirmed that he will be at the show but because he deleted his tweet immediately indicates that his appearance may be planned as a surprise, similar to what is being planned for the return of Cody Rhodes. It will be intriguing to see what the WWE has in store for the young prodigy who has an amateur wrestling background. The other famous WWE superstar who rose to stardom after coming in at a very young age with a similar background was Brock Lesnar.

Kurt Angle says Gable Stevenson is phenomenal

Meanwhile, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle spoke about Gable Steveson and his potential with the organisation during a special Q&A session of The Kurt Angle Podcast.

He said, “Gable Steveson is a phenomenal athlete, especially for his size. The kid is a super athlete, I think he’s going to adapt well to pro wrestling. The only issue is I don’t know his personality. I don’t know how open he is, if he’s able to come up with a great character that people will relate to or that people will absolutely hate.”

“You can be a great wrestler but if you don’t have the character and the promo skills, you’re going to be stuck in the mud. Someone like Gable Steveson, who is an Olympic Gold Medalist, they’re going to bring him in larger than life. A lot of pressure is going to be put on him just like it was for me. I think Gable is going to do a good job, I think he’s going to adapt very well and I think he’s going to have a lot of success in WWE.”

Given their amateur wrestling backgrounds and Olympic Gold Medal accomplishments, there are obvious parallels between Steveson and Angle. Despite the connection, Gable turned to Twitter to insist he’s “not the next Kurt Angle,” while Angle views Steveson as the next Brock Lesnar if he can pick it up as quickly as the former UFC Champion.
