It seems like WWE wants to make a permanent change to WrestleMania. The company is looking into making all the future editions of the showpiece event a two-day show.

The first two-night WrestleMania happened at WrestleMania 36 in 2020 because of all the restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wrestling expert, Dave Meltzer said that WWE will be using WrestleMania 38 as a gauge to see if the idea of a two-night show will work. He said, “I think WrestleMania is gonna be a two-night thing going forward. I think was the first step to see will people buy and they bought in good enough numbers. Did it sell out first day, were the original numbers gigantic? No, but it’s fine. It’s a big stadium. It wasn’t gonna be easy to sell it out two straight days.”

Meltzer also said that it was better if WWE opted for a two-day event because that way, they stand to make more money and that he spoke to people in the company, some of who indicated that this would be the norm moving forward.

“I talked to people there and they certainly gave me the impression that the idea is two days going forward. They always can change their mind based on what happens. I think that they all thought that a seven-hour show just doesn’t work. That’s more tiring than the two days.”

How many tickets have been sold so far?

According to WrestleTix, WWE has sold well over 58,000 tickets for both nights. That number can however increase because this year’s event is being held at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas which can house more than 80 thousand people.

WrestleMania 32 took place in the same venue and sold well over 100,000 tickets. The WWE hasn’t sold those many tickets so far but will be hoping that more people will eventually buy the tickets and make the showpiece event a grand success.
