If there is any professional wrestling stable that is enjoying the heroism of the storyline, then it is the Bloodline. The Bloodline was one of the strongest professional wrestling stable of all time. It was led by The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, alongside The Usos and Solo Sikoa. Sami Zayn was also part of the stable but due to tensions rising, he left the Bloodline. Know everything about the Bloodline’s formation and existence. So, let’s look back at how was the Bloodline formed.

When and how was The Bloodline formed?

After a conflict between Reigns and Jey in late 2020, the stable was formally established in July 2021. Jimmy joined in after coming back from an injury. As he now holds both the WWE and Universal belts in his fourth and second consecutive reigns, respectively—the longest reign of either—Reigns is marketed as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

He adopted the monikers “Tribal Chief” and “Head of the Table” in recognition of his position as the head of WWE. His cousins, The Usos, held the Raw and SmackDown tag team championships simultaneously in their third and fifth respective reigns, the longest reign and the longest male tag team title reign in WWE history for the latter. They were advertised as the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions until they lost their titles at WrestleMania 39.

How did the Bloodline come into existence?

Reigns made his comeback at SummerSlam on August 23, 2020, after a five-month absence. He turned heel for the first time since 2014 by attacking the newly crowned Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman. Reigns’ alliance with Paul Heyman was revealed on the SmackDown program airing on August 28.

Reigns won his second Universal Championship at Payback two days later by defeating Wyatt and Strowman in a No Holds Barred triple threat match. After Big E was attacked and hurt in a storyline on September 4’s edition of SmackDown, Jey replaced Big E in a fatal-four-way match against Matt Riddle, King Corbin, and Sheamus, with the winner earning a Universal Championship match at Clash of Champions.

Fighting with Jey Uso

Jey triumphed by pinning Riddle, giving him the chance to compete in his first singles title. Jey was defeated by Reigns in the match through a technical knockout, and Jimmy came over to throw a white towel for him. In a Hell in a Cell “I Quit” match at the event under the same name, Jey was given another championship opportunity against Reigns with the additional condition that if he lost, he would have to obey Reigns’ demands or face expulsion from their family. After Reigns attacked the injured Jimmy and had Jey proclaim “I quit” to protect his brother, Jey lost the match once more.

On October 30, Jey Uso defeated Daniel Bryan, aligning with Roman Reigns and becoming Reigns’ right-hand man. He gained the nickname “Main Event Jey Uso” and had notable singles achievements. At Elimination Chamber on February 21, 2021, Jey competed for a Universal Championship opportunity but was eliminated by Daniel Bryan. On April 9, Jey won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Jimmy Uso returned, disapproving of the alliance. Tensions rose between Reigns, Jimmy, and Jey. Jey temporarily walked out, but Jimmy offered his help to Reigns. On July 9, The Usos officially reunited with Reigns, forming “The Bloodline.”
