WWE hall of famer thinks Cody Rhodes should turn heel

Let's face it: Cody Rhodes, along with Sami Zayn, is the ultimate babyface in WWE right now. The majority of Rhodes' supporters are in their twenties. The American Nightmare's defeat against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania was widely panned by his admirers.

Kevin Nash believes Cody Rhodes should turn heel after winning the WWE Championship. The WWE Hall of Famer stated on his ‘Kliq This’ show that “the money is always gonna be with the babyface chasing the belt.” So, after Cody’s quest is complete and he is in possession of one (or both) of WWE’s greatest trophies, Nash believes Rhodes should abandon fans and become a villain.

Kev compared this to Paul Orndorff’s feud with former on-screen mate Hulk Hogan in the 1980s; Orndorff didn’t go on to become champion, but his irritation with Hulk grew and ended up ruining their friendship.

‘Big Sexy’ believes WWE’s writers might use certain elements of that plot for Cody’s own journey. On TV, he’s plainly not friends with Roman Reigns, but Rhodes turning black because he’s possessed by an obsessive quest to become champion is a viable storyline for 2023. Most fans expected Cody to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Title from Reigns at WrestleMania 39, but WWE chose Roman instead.

Why did Brock Lesnar attack, Cody Rhodes?

This week’s Monday Night RAW featured a major plot twist as Brock Lesnar was set to join up with Cody Rhodes in the main event against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. Instead, it concluded with Lesnar allegedly attacking Rhodes to build up their match. WWE revealed the unusual cause for the attack on the most recent edition of SmackDown.

After Brock Lesnar violently pummelling Cody Rhodes on RAW, fans were taken aback. Cody asked Roman Reigns for a WrestleMania 39 rematch, but he required a tag team partner for the main event. Lesnar entered the ring after being barred from facing Roman Reigns after losing to him in their “Last Man Standing” battle at SummerSlam 2022.

Wade Barrett said on SmackDown this week that Brock Lesnar assaulted Cody Rhodes because he was upset because his battle against Omos began the program while Rhode’s main event the night.

This might be the reason and might not be. But it would be interesting to see whether “The American Nightmare” can overcome “The Beast Incarnate”.
