Cody Rhodes just had one of the most trying matches of his entire life when he took on Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell with a torn pec. WWE confirmed the injury yesterday and according to backstage reports, it was only at Rhodes’ insistence that Vince McMahon gave the go-ahead for the match to take place. Cody put on what can only be described as a once in a lifetime performance. No one would have envisaged someone with a torn pec could wrestle in a brutal match for over 20 minutes but that is exactly what Cody Rhodes did.

How Cody beat Rollins

In the ring, when Cody removed his jacket, it became apparent just how injured he really was with a massive bruise on his chest and arm. The match got underway as the Visionary used a kendo stick to attack the arm and pec early on. The American Nightmare found a bull rope under the ring, so both men put it on and used it on each other. After a lot of near-falls and painful spots and a few pedigrees, Rhodes used a sledgehammer to get the win to defeat Rollins for the third time in a row.
