Marcus Rashford is reportedly assisting Wes Brown, a former Manchester United player who has declared bankruptcy. Brown owes a six-figure debt to HMRC and is also allegedly in arrears on his vehicle payments. During his tenure at Old Trafford, Wes Brown was a well-liked member of the Manchester United dressing room, and it has been reported that other teammates such as Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick have come together to offer their support. Brown spent 12 successful years at United and achieved numerous titles under the reign of Sir Alex Ferguson.

He played more than 200 matches for the club, including 21 in the unforgettable Treble-winning season. Arguably, his best campaign was in 2007/08 when United secured their third European Cup, which was Brown’s second, by defeating Chelsea in a rainy Moscow penalty shootout. Brown assisted Cristiano Ronaldo in scoring United’s opener on the night, which was later equalized by Frank Lampard, leading the game to be decided in a penalty shootout.

It has been reported that Marcus Rashford has offered Brown a luxurious residence to reside in during his financial difficulties. Although Brown had a high income during his time at Manchester United, the recent news may come as a surprise. Nevertheless, a source close to the player, told the Daily Star: “It may seem like Wes was earning big money — to most people he was — but the trouble was he was also trying to keep up with the lifestyle of team-mates earning five or six times more than he was.”

The defender has left behind only positive memories for Manchester United fans, and they will undoubtedly wish him the best in overcoming his current financial difficulties.
