The victory helped the visitors to take their points tally to 81 from 38 games and they are currently occupying third spot in the English second tier table, just a solitary point adrift of leaders Leeds United. The Riversiders, on the other hand, are languishing at the 17th spot in the table, with 42 points to their name from 38 league matches, just three clear of the relegation zone.

Blackburn Rovers have recorded 11 wins, nine draws and 18 defeats from 38 Championship games so far, and their last victory came against Stoke City back in February. After that, the Riversiders went on a nine game winless run across all competitions, recording six draws in the process. Following back-to-back 1-1 draws with Plymouth Argyle and Millwall, John Eustace’s side played out a cagey 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on March 16. Should results on Good Friday go their way, Ipswich could be spending the Easter weekend at the summit of the Championship table, as they are just a solitary points adrift of the top two.
