Since losing out 2-0 to Vietnam in the semifinals of the AFF Championship back in January, Indonesia have participated in just two friendly fixtures, facing Burundi in a double-header within the space of few days. The Red and White secured a comfortable 3-1 victory in the first fixture before earning a dramatic draw in the second encounter against Burundi thanks to Witan Sulaeman’s opener and a last-ditch equaliser from Jordi Amat. Having lost just one of their last 11 outings across all competitions Team Garuda will be confident of securing a positive result against Palestine on Wednesday ahead of their much-awaited friendly against world champions Argentina at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on June 19. Meanwhile, Indonesia are unbeaten at home since losing 1-0 to Jordan back in June last year.
Palestine, on the other hand, got the better of Bahrain at Sheikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium last time out thanks to second-half efforts from Michael Termanini and Islam Batran. The result extended their winning streak to four games, scoring 12 goals and conceding just one in the period, while the three other victories came against Mongolia, Yemen and Philippines in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. After the game against Indonesia, Lions of Canaan will travel to Dalian Suoyuwan Stadium to take on China.
