Pak Shaheen are heading into the match on the back of a disappointing 3-0 loss to Mauritius last Sunday, while Kenya's last action was back in March when they suffered a 2-1 defeat against Iran.
Kenya get their 2023 Four Nations Cup campaign underway when they take on host Pakistan at the National Sports Complex on Wednesday evening. The African outfit were previously in action on March 28 when they suffered a 2-1 defeat against Iran in a friendly, while Pak Shaheen are heading into the match on the back of a disappointing 3-0 loss to Mauritius last Sunday. Pakistan are preparing for the SAFF Championships in India later this month.
After a 16-month absence due to a suspension imposed by FIFA, Kenya returned to action on March 28, when they lost out to Iran at Azadi Stadium in Tehran despite taking the lead through Michael Olunga’s 51st-minute effort. Prior to that, Hamarmbree Stars picked up a 2-1 win over Rwanda in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in November 2021 thanks to goals from Olunga and Philadelphia Union midfielder Richard Odada. The African outfit are heading into the match on the back of a six-game winless streak, and they are currently sitting at the 102nd position in the FIFA World Rankings.
