Roma got the better of Milan on Thursday courtesy of first-half efforts from Gianluca Mancini and Paulo Dybala. Although La Lupa defender Mehmet Zeki Celik received a red card on the half-hour mark and Rossoneri pulled one back through Matteo Gabbia’s 85th-minutte effort, Daniele de Rossi’s men managed to hold on to the slender lead and progressed to the semi-finals of the Europa League with a 3-1 aggregate victory. It was their third successive win across all competitions. Giallorossi have recorded 16 wins, seven draws and eight defeats from 31 Serie A games this term. Their last league-match against Udinese was abandoned when Evan Ndicka dramatically fell to the ground mid-way through the second-half, and the conclusion to that fixture must be played at a later date. Meanwhile, Wolves’ home-form this season has been impressive winning 11 of their 16 top flight fixtures at Stadio Olimpico, while De Rossi’s men are heading into the match on the back five successive home-wins in all competitions.
Bologna, on the other hand, have recorded 16 wins, 11 draws and five defeats from 32 Serie A games so far. Their last win came against Salernitana at the start of this month thanks to one goal each from Riccardo Orsolini, Alexia Saelemaekers and Charalampos Lykogiannis. After that, Thiago Mota’s men were held to two back-to-back goalless draws with Frosinone and Monza. Nevertheless, the Rossoblu are now unbeaten in their last four outings, not conceding a single goal in the period. Although the Petronians have been impressive at home, their away-record hasn’t been very great, registering just four league-wins on the road so far this season.
