After the narrow 1-0 defeat versus Swansea City on February 10, Hull secured three successive 2-1 wins against the likes of Rotherham United, Huddersfield Town and Southampton. On Tuesday night, the Tigers got the better of third-placed Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium thanks to first-half efforts from Anass Zaroury and Fabio Carvalho. It was their 16th league-win of the season. The collection of 12 points from a possible 15 in February has helped Liam Rosenior’s men to leapfrog Coventry into the playoff places. Though, Rosenior’s side have the sixth best away-record in the Championship this term, they haven’t been great at MKM stadium, taking just 25 points from 16 league games in front of their own supporters.
West Brom, on the other hand, have the fourth-best home-record in the league this season, but they have struggled on their travels, winning only five of their 14 second tier games on the road. The Baggies secured their latest away-win, first one since the 2-0 success over Rotherham United in December 13 last year, versus Plymouth at Home Park on Tuesday night thanks to second-half efforts from Cedric Kipre, Michael Johnston and Tom Fellows. It was Carlos Coberan’s side’s 16th Championship-win of the season, taking their points tally to 55 from 33 games, 14 adrift of the top two.
