Malaysian badminton player Lee Zii Jia has decided not to participate in the Korean Masters 2023, which kicked off this Tuesday (Nov 7) in Gwangju. Team LZJ shared this update on social media on Monday, November 6. They stated, “After consultation with doctors and physical experts, Team LZJ agrees that it’s best for Lee Zii Jia to take a little bit more time to rest before coming back to action.”

The announcement clarified that Zii Jia is not dealing with any significant injuries and is expected to make a return in the near future. The independent athlete, currently the world’s 11th ranked men’s singles player, is expected to rejoin the competitive circuit at the Japan Masters (Nov 14-19) followed by the China Masters (Nov 21-26). His recent triumph was at the Arctic Open 2023, and he was last seen competing at the Denmark Open 2023.

Lee Zii Jia’s career so far
