Lee Zii Jia has already made a name as a badminton player in Malaysia and on the international stage. He won the junior title at the Perak and Selangor Badminton Open in 2015. At the 2021 All England Open, he won his first BWF Super 1000 championship. Then, he won the men’s singles gold medal at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. At the 2022 Badminton Asia Championships, Lee won the men’s singles title to become the 2022 Asian champion. Lee’s popularity on the world stage can be seen when he was highlighted on a digital billboard in Times Square. It was done as part of the 55th anniversary of the badminton brand Victor. Lee is now the first badminton player from Malaysia to appear on a Times Square billboard.
Badminton is one of the sports whose governing body is known for organizing tournaments throughout the year. As a result, it becomes hectic for the players as they participate in one after another tournament to prove their worth on the world stage. Despite such busy schedules and their prior commitments to the sport, they’ve also been nurturing their friendships and relationships.
