The Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2023 are scheduled to take place from July 7–16, 2023, for the 23rd occasion of the event. Officially known as the BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2023, this competition is slated to take place at the Among Rogo Sports Hall in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The main objective of the competition is to identify Asia’s top U-19 badminton players. With the support of Badminton Asia, the Badminton Association of Indonesia is in charge of organizing the competition.

The event features an innovative concept that involves both team and individual competitions. The mixed team event, scheduled for July 7–11, will include 14 teams competing during the first phase. With competitions slated from July 12–16, the tournament will then concentrate on individual performances. This structure allows for a diverse exhibition of ability and engages participants in a variety of competitive games.

The Indian squad participated in a demanding two-week preparation camp before the competition. The Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula served as the location for the training sessions. A camp was hosted by the well-known Maharatna company REC Limited, which is a part of the Ministry of Power. The Badminton Association of India (BAI) and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) additionally had a significant role in providing assistance.

At the Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2023, India is placed in Group C for the first round of the mixed-team competition alongside Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong. The first and second-place teams from each group advance to the competition’s knockout stage because of the tournament’s structure. India has won two gold, one silver, and three bronze medals in the tournament. The first Indian shuttler to win gold in the event was in the 2012 iteration when PV Sindhu cemented her place in history. Lakshya Sen then succeeded in this notable feat, adding to the gold total in 2018.
