With WrestleMania 38 just around the corner and the event being held in Texas, Stone Cold Steve Austin will appear inside the squared circle for the first time in 2 years where he is scheduled to be on the KO Show with Kevin Owens.

Wrestling expert, Dave Meltzer said that the segment between Austin and Owens will be more than “just a kick in the gut and stunner” and he also noted that Steve Austin was currently in fantastic shape when he was speaking on Sunday Night’s Main Event.

“He’s training very hard so it’s gonna be more than that. Will he do a 20-minute match? No, I don’t think so. Will he go seven minutes or something and have a brawl all over the place? I kind of expect that, yeah,” Meltzer said.

WWE wanted Austin to wrestle at the showpiece event but Stone Cold didn’t commit to getting into the ring again. The WWE Hall of Famer retired from wrestling in 2003 after having issues with his neck for a long time.

The Texas Rattlesnake as he is commonly known in the wrestling community also suffered from various knee injuries and his body was exhausted to a great extent after being in the wrestling business for such a long time. After retiring, he continued to appear as an authority figure for a couple of years before quitting the sport for good.

Jake Roberts knew about Stone Cold’s immense potential

WWE legend Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts has revealed that Vince McMahon once laughed at him when he said that Stone Cold Steve Austin would go on to become a huge star.

Speaking on the latest edition of the DDP Snake Pit podcast, Roberts said he knew that Austin was destined for stardom. He said, “He came up there as The Ringmaster, which stunk. And he knew it stunk, I knew it stunk, but Vince has this thing, man. He’s going to make it work. But it wasn’t working and it wasn’t doing anybody any favors, and it finally got bad enough that they gave him some time off and he came back Stone Cold.”

“At that time, I was helping write the storylines and I looked at the whole thing there and I told Vince ‘that guy’s going to be your next megastar.’ And Vince laughed at me, he said ‘No way. Middle of the card maybe.’ I said ‘No, you’re wrong. You wait and see.’ And that’s probably one of my better feel-good moments too because I was right”, concluded Roberts.
