WWE news: Roman Reigns believes The Rock wants to fight him

With Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson now a household name in Hollywood and next year’s WrestleMania taking place in California, it would be fitting if the Brahma Bull makes a return there.

WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns thinks that if The Rock ever came back for a match, it would be against him.

The Tribal Chief and the People’s Champ are cousins and go a long way back. In fact, The Rock helped Roman Reigns win the Royal Rumble in 2015 when he helped his cousin fend off both the Big Show and Kane, who at the time were part of the Authority. And because they share a close relationship, Reigns believes that The Rock would want to face him.

He said, “Us being very close and like family, I don’t think there’s any other choice. If he ever wanted to get back into a WWE ring, I am definitely the guy he’s going to want to be facing off against.

With Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson now a household name in Hollywood and next year’s WrestleMania taking place in California, it would be fitting if the Brahma Bull came back for a match with Reigns there.

With Reigns now in a different zone in his career where everything he touches turns to gold and add to that, the charisma and the hype that The Rock would bring to the table, its no surprise that the fans will want to see this fight happen.

Bully Ray has this to say about Roman Reigns vs The Rock

Hall of Famer, Bully Ray believes that if there ever was to be a match against Roman Reigns and The Rock, then the seeds should be planted at the end of WrestleMania 38.

Bully Ray was on the Busted Open podcast when he gave his two cents on how he would book the dream match as there were numerous possibilities for the feud.

The former tag team champion, Bully, said, “The Head of the Table, the Anoa’i family, the Samoan dynasty, the story is right there. If you’re going to give me a potential WrestleMania main event next year in Roman Reigns and The Rock, and a built-in family story – could you imagine every living Samoan who is part of that family, in attendance to see that match. That’s deep stuff. The Anoi’a family – the Samoans, the relationship with the McMahons, the depth with which that story can be told.”

Bully Ray also spoke glowingly about the ongoing feud between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. “This is not just a thrown together main event of two powerhouses and heavy hitters and we build for a month. I think they’ve been doing a great job with Brock and Roman with the two powerhouses and heavy hitters and the story they’ve told. But The Rock and Roman… what a story, what a story.”
