Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder has revealed whether he would go to the WWE or not. Cardona was released by WWE in April 2020 and since then has gone on to achieve great things in other promotions. He has won various titles in NWA, GCW and Impact Wrestling.

Speaking with Cultaholic on Straight To Hell, the current NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion has said that he would definitely be interested if WWE called. He said, “If Vince McMahon called me, or Bruce Prichard or John Laurinaitis called me, of course I would pick up, of course I would have a conversation. Why wouldn’t I? I’d be lying right now if I said I never want to wrestle at Madison Square Garden or I never want to wrestle at WrestleMania again. Anybody who says that is f**king lying, quite frankly.

“But I’m not doing what I’m doing now hoping to get back. I don’t do what I do thinking, ‘Oh man what do I have to do to get back to WWE?’ or ‘What do I have to do to get AEW to look at me?’ No, I’m doing me. If those opportunities present itself, great but the state of pro wrestling is it’s on fire right now. You don’t need to be in those two companies…I’m trying to prove you don’t need it.”

Jarrett calls Cardona a WWE fanboy

Meanwhile, WWE Hall of  Famer, Jeff Jarrett called Matt Cardona a ‘WWE fanboy’ and said that he doesn’t care what Cardona thinks and that he was just stating facts.

During a Wrestling Inc. interview, Jarrett said, “If you drew up a wrestler in 2022 that identifies and emulates an ‘NWA Worlds Champion,’ Matt Cardona — in my opinion — is that last on that list. He probably doesn’t like when I say this, but he’s the product of the WWE system. He was essentially born into [WWE] not just as a wrestler but as a fan. He grew up on WWE, a WWE fanboy from a young age, and I’m not saying good or bad. I’m just stating the facts.”
