Ratings for WWE SmackDown are boosted by Kevin Owens' comeback

With Kevin Owens returning as the fifth member going against the Bloodline at War Games Survivor Series has help SmackDown gain more viewership this week.

After this week’s broadcast, WWE SmackDown’s overnight viewership saw a little increase with Kevin Owens’ return. The XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, was the source of the most recent iteration of the blue brand. The program included two World Cup matches and a significant comeback. Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Roman Reigns, and Ronda Rousey were among the prominent celebrities who attended the episode.

The preliminary ratings for this week’s SmackDown averaged about 2.130 million people, according to SpoilerTV. This was based on 2.146 million viewers in the first hour and 2.107 million viewers in the second. The overnight ratings were higher than the previous week’s average of 2.115 million viewers. The episode received a 0.50 rating in the important 18-49 demo.

This weeks SmackDown was LIT as Kevin Owens returns!!!

The Brawling Brutes and Drew McIntyre addressed The Bloodline at the start of the episode. Sami Zayn cut off the advertisement and promised that his group will win the WarGames. Ricochet faced Mustafa Ali in a World Cup match in the opening round. The One and Only took home the victory with the Shooting Star Press after the two high-flyers put on an electrifying performance. Next, in a rematch from the previous week, Karrion Kross triumphed over Madcap Moss.

LA Knight stopped Bray Wyatt as he tried to “make apologies” to the WWE Universe. Before leaving the ring, Knight was able to smack Bray twice during their brief altercation on the mic.

The WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey was in Shotzi’s corner when she faced Shayna Baszler in the next match. Raquel Rodriquez entered the ring to level the playing field after observing that Ronda’s meddling was upsetting Shotzi. The top contender then quickly rolled up Baszler for the victory.

In a six-man tag bout against The Imperium, Braun Strowman enlisted The New Day’s assistance. Strowman made the difference, and Xavier Woods pinned Ludwig Kaiser as a result. Sami Zayn and Butch squared off in the main event of another SmackDown World Cup match.

A confrontation broke out between The Bloodline and the Brutes when the Brawling Brutes member claimed victory. As soon as Roman Reigns entered the ring, he used a mix of Spears and Superman Punches to completely destroy everyone. The fifth member of the Brutes was finally revealed by Kevin Owens when he appeared on SmackDown. He hit Roman with a stunner to end SmackDown by removing the Bloodline from the scene.
