Braun Strowman is a professional wrestler from the United States who now competes on the independent circuit. Strowman was born in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, as Adam Joseph Scherr. He used to play semi-professional football with the Hickory Hornets before starting his professional career.
He also went to the NFL Scouting Combine but decided against pursuing a professional career. After winning the NAS US Amateur National Championship in 2011 and getting his Strongman Corporation Professional Card, he embarked on a strongman career. He also took first place in the Arnold Amateur Strongman Championships the following year.
Following that, he signed a deal with WWE and began his professional career there. He went by the ring moniker “Braun Strowman” after that. In 2014, he made his live debut in a match against Chad Gable. He is also a Triple Crown winner.
On RAW, Wyatt welcomed Braun Strowman into the family. At Night of Champions, he joined the stable and beat Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Chris Jericho. Braun Strowman signed with WWE in 2013. He made his RAW debut in 2014 as part of Exotic Express. He was promoted to the main roster after completing his training. On RAW, Wyatt welcomed Braun Strowman into the family. At Night of Champions, he joined the stable and beat Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Chris Jericho. The Wyatt Family was defeated by the Brothers of Destruction in the Survivor Series. The Wyatt Family assaulted Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble and defeated him. John Cena and The Rock defeated The Wyatt Family at WrestleMania 32.
On RAW, Strowman was unbeaten in handicap matches, defeating jobbers and local rivals. Scherr took against the brand’s biggest stars and joined Team RAW for the Survivor Series, which they lost.
Strowman’s biggest feud began at the Royal Rumble when he cost Roman Reigns the opportunity to defend his championship. But he was defeated by Reigns at Fastlane, marking his first loss by pinfall. Following Mania, Scherr continued his battle with Reigns, which he won.
Strowman met Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at No Mercy and lost. He lost against Lesnar at SummerSlam and the Royal Rumble. He beat The Bar to win the RAW Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 34, partnering with a 10-year-old. On RAW, he relinquished the championship.
Braun Strowman moved to SmackDown after the Draft. Strowman was defeated by Tyson Fury through count out at Super Showdown. Then he won the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36 by defeating Goldberg. Roman Reigns was slated to fight Goldberg at first. He was defeated by his old stablemate, Bray Wyatt, after 140 days.
Scherr was embroiled in a significant rivalry with Shane McMahon before leaving the business. In a steel cage match at WrestleMania, he beat McMahon. He had a couple of chances to win the WWE and Universal Championships, but he never did. He was liberated from his contract in June.
