Cody Rhodes remains on the “WWE Raw” roster as a result of the 2023 WWE Drought, but Roman Reigns has moved to “WWE SmackDown.” Despite being positioned on separate brands, Rhodes stated to “ComicBook Nation” regarding his recent WrestleMania loss that his sights are still focused on Reigns and the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

“The goal is the same for me,” Rhodes said. “I came here wanting one thing. It doesn’t mean other stories won’t happen that will also be finished, and it doesn’t mean there aren’t other milestones. … But the most important thing to me is still the championship that sits on Roman’s shoulders.”

Rhodes went on to say that a lot would have to happen in order for the rematch to happen. Rhodes also addressed the reintroduction of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, which will be exclusive to “Raw.” Though his top priority appears to be Reigns’ title, the “American Nightmare” stated that he is still interested in pursuing the new championship.

“[With] how WrestleMania 39 ended, a lot of people wonder how [I would] look at this,” Rhodes continued. “I try not to get into the discussion on it because it’s more one of those things where, in my mind, the goal hasn’t changed, but also other things are going to come up.”

The “Raw” star revealed that he is currently more focused on his impending bout with Brock Lesnar. The match between Rhodes and Lesnar is expected to take place this Saturday at WWE Backlash. The event will be broadcast live from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico, marking the company’s first TV, PPV, or PLE taping in the nation in 18 years.

Is the feud between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns over?

“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes has been drafted to WWE RAW. Roman Reigns to Smackdown. With both men now performing at their brands, the big question is whether their feud is over or not. But Cody Rhodes wants to fight “The Tribal Chief”. During WWE’s live event in Belfast, Ireland on Friday night (prior to Smackdown airing), Rhodes teased that his feud with Roman Reigns would continue regardless of the Draft results.

“The way I look at it is this what happened in Wrestlemania in Hollywood (losing to Reigns) is an injustice that I 100% intend on avenging. Doesn’t matter what, doesn’t matter when it happens. I still intend to finish the story. And part of finishing the story means coming back to Belfast – Champion.”

With Cody Rhodes clearing his intentions what happens next is unknown, but whenever it is going to happen it’s definitely going to be huge.
