Over the years, there have been a lot of wrestlers that have gone under the radar. Some just didn’t click with the crowd while the others got lost in a wave of euphoria.

The term underrated is used a lot in the wrestling business and rightly so because here, there are wrestlers that put in the hard work and work on the road without taking any breaks and when they don’t get the credit they deserve, it just does not feel right.

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle was recently speaking on the Kurt Angle Show when he revealed who according to him is the most underrated wrestler and his answer may shock you.

Angle said, Christian Cage is the most underrated wrestler of all time. He never gets the credit that he deserves. He’s a superstar, don’t get me wrong. But he’s always been in the shadow of Edge and he’s actually just as good as Edge, and he’s actually better than all of us at putting matches together.

“He comes up with incredible spots and incredible ideas. The kid is so creative and he goes out on the mat and backs it up. He’s just an incredible wrestler,” said Angle.

What is Christian doing now?

Christian has had quite the career. He has been in the wrestling business for nearly thirty years and has managed to keep himself relevant in the eyes of the fans.

Captain Charisma as he is fondly known is the 11th grand slam champion in the WWE having won the lot. He also wrestled for organizations like ECW and TNA where he also held the top titles. Christian currently works for AEW and is embroiled in a feud with Jungle Boy.

Christian is a great in-ring performer and continues to have great matches despite being on the wrong side of 40. Not only that, but he is also great on the mic and is a compelling story teller. His storytelling prowess has been his most underrated trait as a wrestler.

You can tell whether or not a wrestler is a good storyteller depending on how they can get under the skin of the fans and Christian does that without breaking a sweat. Some of the work that he doing right now with Jungle Boy in AEW makes for compelling television and in the process is putting over Jungle Boy big time.
