Never in the history of WWE has there been a character quite like Jake “The Snake” Roberts. The Snake is undoubtedly one the scariest and most menacing wrestlers to have ever stepped foot inside the squared circle. Throughout his career, Roberts was known for his intense and cerebral promos, dark charisma, and extensive use of psychology. He often brought snakes into the ring, most famously a python. He has had his fair share of problems outside the ring but he was a problem to many inside of it. In the article, we will look at some of his best rivals in the WWE.
Roberts first crossed paths with The Undertaker when the latter was going head to head with Randy Savage. The Snake would appear on The Funeral Parlour to confront the Deadman but the angle ended with a DDT on Paul Bearer and The Undertaker’s hand being crushed by the coffin lid. The Undertaker did not like this one bit and was very angry and rightly so. The Snake looked like it managed to anger the Deadman. These events led to a match at WrestleMania 8, where Roberts took on the Undertaker but lost and fell victim to the Deadman’s legendary WrestleMania streak.

The feud that Roberts had with Macho Man Randy Savage was one of the longest and most memorable ones in his career. It had a bizarre beginning when Roberts gave a snake as a wedding gift to Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth. It took a negative turn when The Snake began cutting promos on the Macho Man and forced him to come out of retirement. Things went out of hand when Jake used a real snake to bite the arm of Randy Savage. Their match was an epic contest and was won by Savage but he could not trump Roberts on the mic.
Hands down, the biggest feud in the career of The Snake. Time and time again, Roberts used his snake to scare Ande and pushed the giant to such lengths that he had to fake a heart attack. The two men took on each other on many occasions and it was won by the Giant at most times. But at WrestleMania V, the history books read that Roberts was victorious over Andre after The Giant attacked the referee, causing a disqualification.
