Edge, formerly known as the Rated-R Superstar during his illustrious 25-year tenure in WWE, has embarked on a new chapter by signing with AEW. The move sent shockwaves through the wrestling community, leaving fans and industry insiders alike in anticipation of what’s to come.

In a recent post-Fastlane press conference, WWE Chief Content Officer, Triple H, shared his perspective on Edge’s departure. Acknowledging Edge’s significant contributions to WWE, he mentioned, “He had an amazing career and an amazing sendoff here. I think he felt like he had done what there was to do.” The departure, according to Triple H, was a mutual decision — a recognition that the time was right for both Edge and WWE.

No Hard Feelings: Triple H’s Message to Edge

Addressing the transition to AEW, Triple H expressed there are no sour feelings. He conveyed a positive message, stating, “I’m happy for him. I’m very, very happy for him. If somebody feels like a different opportunity is better for them? Great, that’s wonderful. But the machine doesn’t stop for anyone.”

Triple H clarified that he reached out to Edge post his AEW debut at WrestleDream. “I sent him a message, ‘I’m happy for [him] and proud of him, and happy for him.’” This camaraderie highlights a mutual respect, despite the shift in alliances.

Edge’s Motivation for the Move: AEW and a Perfect World

Adam Copeland, the man behind the Edge persona, shed light on his decision to join AEW. One of the pivotal factors was the opportunity to conclude his career alongside longtime friend and tag partner, Christian Cage (Jay Reso). Copeland revealed, “My perfect world is that I end my career with Jay.” This desire aligned with the chance AEW provided, making it a compelling proposition that Edge found challenging to pass up.

As Edge embarks on this new journey, AEW fans can anticipate his in-ring debut on the October 10th edition of Dynamite. The wrestling landscape continues to evolve, and with Edge’s AEW leap, a fresh chapter unfolds in the storied career of the Rated-R Superstar.
