Mick Foley, the iconic WWE Hall of Famer, opened up in a recent interview on Hot Ones, sharing what he hopes his lasting legacy will be. In a world filled with body slams and bone-crushing action, Foley’s legacy takes a different, more heartwarming twist.

Foley, known for his incredible wrestling career and various personas, spoke candidly about the impact he wants to leave behind. When asked what he wishes people will remember him for, Foley’s response was not about the championships or epic battles he fought in the ring, but rather about the way he treated others.

“I like to think I treated people well,” Mick Foley shared, his voice tinged with humility. “I like to think that was my lasting impression because I remember coming up through the ranks and not being treated well.”

Paying it Forward: An Act of Kindness

Foley’s journey through the world of professional wrestling was marked by his own experiences of both kindness and indifference. He recounted how, as a rising star, he had his share of harsh treatment. However, he also had the fortune of encountering big wrestling names who went out of their way to be kind to him.

“I remember big stars going out of their way to be kind to me,” he reminisced, “and I thought, if I ever get to be in this position, that’s the way I’m going to treat people because I like how this feels.”

A Personal touch: Letters from Santa

Mick Foley’s commitment to treating people well goes beyond the wrestling world. He revealed one of his unique hobbies – writing approximately 40 handwritten letters from Santa. This heartfelt act of kindness stands as a testament to his dedication to making a positive impact on people’s lives.

“When I had my hip and knee replaced in two different operations in 2017,” Foley explained, “I really worked on my handwriting.”

He further shared, “So I hope that people remember, like that guy for the cell like he wrote my kid? He’s been writing my kid letters from Santa for like seven years. So that’s honestly what I hope my legacy is – that I treated people well.”

Mick Foley’s legacy extends far beyond the world of professional wrestling. It serves as a reminder that kindness, compassion, and making a personal connection can leave a profound impact on the lives of others. In a world often defined by toughness, Foley’s unique brand of humanity shines through as a legacy worth cherishing.
