AS Roma midfielder Bryan Cristante is set to miss the Serie A clash against Inter Milan at San Siro on Saturday because of physical problems. Therefore the Italian footballer has not travelled with the La Lupa squad to Milan. Cristante has made 36 appearances for Roma across all competitions this season and 29 of those have been starts. The big fellow sits in front of the back three and provides the much needed cover, allowing the wing-backs to push forward.

Jordan Veretout is likely to take over in his place, giving him an opportunity to prove his quality to Mourinho. The Frenchman has not started in his last five consecutive league appearances so he’ll be keen to show his best in a tough encounter against a Scudetto hungry Inter.

Mourinho’s side are in stupendous form having not lost a match in their last 12 league games and managed to register seven wins in those 12. Roma would be aiming to continue the unbeaten streak against the defending champions, who are looking to make it five wins in a row across all competitions.

Inter are heading into the tie on the back of a brilliant 3-0 win over AC Milan to enter the Coppa Italia final in the mid-week and can reach the summit of the standings, with a victory on Saturday. Meanwhile Roma are currently on fifth spot with 58 points from 33 games, five points adrift of the top four and a positive result against second-placed Inter will put pressure on fourth-placed Juventus.

Roma are heading into the Inter match on the back of a thrilling 1-1 draw against Napoli on Monday. Mourinho’s side came from behind to snatch a point courtesy of Stephan El Shaarawy’s injury time goal to cancel out Lorenzo Insigne’s first half penalty. With five more League fixtures remaining for Roma, they are well on course to challenge for a Champions League spot.
