The race for the Serie A title is certainly heating up with the top three teams separated by just four points. AC Milan are currently placed on top of the standings, but Inter Milan can leapfrog them to the summit with a victory against Roma on Saturday. Inter have a game in hand over their nearest rivals and if they don’t drop any points in their remaining fixtures, Simone Inzahi’s side is assured of retaining the Scudetto. Meanwhile third-placed Napoli will travel to Empoli and Milan will face Lazio away from home.

Inter Milan vs Roma ( Kick-off time: 9:30 am IST, Saturday, April 23)

Two of the in-form teams in the Serie A will face each other at the San siro on Saturday. Champions Inter are aiming to take a step closer to defending the Scudetto by beating Jose Mourinho’s resurgent Roma.

Inzaghi’s side are in superb form having thrashed Milan 3-0 in the mid-week to enter the Coppa Italia final, and can return to the summit of the standings with their fifth successive victory. On the other hand, Roma kept their 12-game unbeaten run in the league going with a late equaliser at Napoli last time out.

Inter demolished Milan courtesy of goals from Lautaro Martinez and Robin gosens. Martinez netted a first half brace while Gosens completed the drubbing with a late tap-in. Meanwhile in their last league fixture at Spezia, Marcelo Brozovic scored his first league goal of the season, and Martinez and Alexis Sanchez also found the back of the net to win 3-1.

It’s definitely going to be a thrilling encounter at San Siro between two teams who are playing an exciting brand of football.

Empoli vs Napoli (Kick-off time: 06:30 pm IST, Sunday, April 24)

Napoli travel to the Stadio Carlo Castellani in dire need to win. Luciano Spalletti’s side are without a victory in two games and desperately need three points to put pressure on Inter and Milan at the top. Fortunately for Napoli, Empoli are also on a winless streak stretching back to December 2021. The Partenepoi will certainly fancy their chances against the hosts, who have the third worst defensive record in the league.

After a brilliant 3-1 win over Atalanta at the start of the month, Spalletti’s side suffered a 3-2 loss against Fiorentina before being held to a draw by Roma. Lorenzo Insigne’s opener was canceled out by Stefan El Shaarawy’s late strike to share points at the Diego Armando Stadium.

Lazio vs AC Milan (Kick-off time: 12:15 am IST, Monday, April 25)

Lazio would be aiming to get back to the European spot when they host leaders Milan on Sunday. Meanwhile the visitors desperately need a victory against the in-form Lazio to stay at the summit, as Inter will be in action on Saturday.

Milan’s form off late hasn’t been too great having won just two of their last five games across all competitions. Pioli’s side would be hoping to get back to winning ways after the disappointing Coppa Italia exit against their city rivals.Â
