The IPL 2022 is less than three weeks away. There is tremendous anticipation for cricket fans in India. One hopes that with the declining cases of the coronavirus, fans can witness their favorite teams and players at the stadium. In the beginning, the officials have allowed 25 percent of the crowd to attend the matches at the venues. Unlike 2021, the IPL 2022 league matches will be held in just two cities. Mumbai and Pune will host the league stages of the IPL. The three stadiums in Mumbai which are the Wankhede stadium, Brabourne, and the DY Patil Stadium will host most of the matches. In Pune, the MCA Stadium will host the games. The current arrangement has been done to reduce air travel.

During the 2021 edition of the IPL, air travel and multiple bio-bubbles in multiple cities posed a logistical issue. With the coronavirus pandemic at its height in April-May 2021, it was only a matter of time before the bio-bubbles were breached. The Ahmedabad and Delhi bio-bubbles were breached and players tested positive. The IPL 2021 was suspended and the tournament resumed in the UAE.

All the matches of the IPL 2022 will be telecast on the Star Sports Network. Star Sports 1 will be the English Telecast while Star Sports 3 will have the Hindi Telecast.
