Football fans are treated to daily excitement and intrigue during the ongoing summer transfer window 2023. Each day brings surprising and pleasing news about clubs signing new players and parting ways with others. These decisions can evoke both joy and heartbreak among supporters. One recent major update was that Manchester United has officially transferred Alex Telles to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr. The Brazilian defender, who joined United from Porto in 2020, made 50 appearances over two seasons. However, he was not part of manager Erik ten Hag’s plans for the 2022-2023 season, leading to a loan at Sevilla, where he impressed in 38 matches, including 27 La Liga appearances. Now, Telles has made a permanent move to Al-Nassr, starting a new chapter in his career away from Old Trafford.

Everton has secured Arnaut Danjuma on a season-long loan from Villarreal. After a loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur, he returns to the Premier League, adding firepower to Everton’s squad. Newcastle United has completed the signing of winger Harvey Barnes from Leicester City, with a five-year contract until June 2028. Barnes expressed his excitement about joining Newcastle and being part of an exciting and successful team.

Al Hilal submit huge Kylian Mbappe offer

Saudi club Al-Hilal has reportedly made a world-record bid of €300m (£259m) for Kylian Mbappé and is ready to pay him €200m for one season, as per reports. PSG left Mbappé out of their pre-season tour, determined to sell him unless he signs a new contract. While PSG believes Mbappé will join Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer, Al-Hilal remains undeterred. They allegedly plan to tempt Mbappé with a staggering €200m-a-year salary, reportedly reaching €700m a year with commercial arrangements and image rights. Al-Hilal is open to a deal that could redefine football’s financial norms, surpassing recent Saudi Pro League standards. Previously, Al-Hilal offered Lionel Messi reportedly over £350m a year, but he chose to move to Inter Miami.

Marcel Sabitzer joins Borussia Dortmund

Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer is set to join Borussia Dortmund this summer in a deal reportedly worth around 19 million euros with add-ons. After a loan spell at Manchester United, Sabitzer suffered a season-ending injury, and Bayern decided to let him go as they restructure their midfield. Dortmund stepped in to meet Bayern’s asking price. Sabitzer is expected to sign a long-term contract, possibly for four years until 2027. Dortmund hopes the Austrian midfielder can fill the void left by Jude Bellingham’s departure to Real Madrid and return to his top form from his time at Leipzig.

Bayern Munich’s new bid for Harry Kane expected soon

Bayern Munich is reportedly preparing a third bid of nearly £100 million for Tottenham’s Harry Kane. The German club is eager to meet Tottenham’s asking price, with chairman Daniel Levy facing pressure to sell. Two previous bids, including one with add-ons reportedly totaling £70 million, were rejected. Bayern remains in close contact with Kane’s camp and believes there is a verbal agreement with the player. Despite Tottenham offering an improved contract making him one of the Premier League’s top earners, Kane reportedly has no plans to sign it and is keen to join Thomas Tuchel’s side. Kane’s current deal runs until 2024, leaving Tottenham at risk of losing him for free next summer if they don’t sell him in this transfer window.
