Barcelona has officially secured a deal to sign 18-year-old striker Vitor Roque from Athletico Paranaense in Brazil for a reported fee of €30 million, with potential add-ons of €31 million. Roque, considered one of Brazil’s top talents, will join Barcelona for the 2024-25 season on a contract lasting until 2031. Barcelona’s financial limitations have led them to focus on free transfers this summer, including Ilkay Gundogan and Inigo Martinez. Christian Pulisic, the United States forward, has arrived in Italy for a medical with AC Milan ahead of his anticipated move from Chelsea. Milan is reported to pay €20 million for Pulisic, who would sign a four-year contract. Pulisic’s time at Chelsea was hampered by injuries, but he still won multiple trophies with the club. Pulisic has represented the United States 60 times, scoring 25 goals.

Aston Villa has officially completed the signing of centre-back Pau Torres from Villareal for £35 million. Torres, who previously played under Villa manager Unai Emery, played a crucial role in Villareal’s successful season, including winning the Europa League. The 26-year-old has also represented Spain at Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup. Torres joins Tyrone Mings, Diego Carlos, and Ezri Konsa as Villa’s centre-back options. The transfer fee negotiated by Villa was reportedly £35 million, lower than Torres’ £55 million release clause.

Fabinho in talks with Saudi clubs

There are rumors connecting Fabinho with a transfer to Al Ittihad, the reigning champions of the Saudi Pro League and owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. It is reported that Al Ittihad is prepared to offer £40 million for the 30-year-old player. However, no official offer has been made as of now. With the team scheduled to leave for their pre-season camp in Germany soon, both Fabinho and the other player in question are expected to travel with the squad. They have already resumed training earlier this week, indicating their commitment to the team despite the ongoing transfer speculation.

Manchester United reject Galatasaray’s bid for Fred

Fred, who has seen his prominence diminish at Old Trafford, is reportedly exploring his options as Manchester United is open to selling the 30-year-old Brazilian if the right offer comes along. United is allegedly seeking a transfer fee of over £20 million for Fred, but an initial proposal from Galatasaray has been turned down as it fell short of the valuation, according to the reports. While there is significant interest in Fred’s services, United’s asking price may pose a challenge. Fulham has expressed interest in the midfielder; however, they have made it clear that they do not share United’s valuation of Fred. The situation indicates that Fred’s future at United is uncertain, with the club open to selling him if a suitable offer is received.

Arsenal sign Jurrien Timber

Arsenal have officially completed the signing of Jurrien Timber from Ajax. The 22-year-old versatile defender, capable of playing at right-back or centre-back, has joined on a long-term contract. The transfer fee agreed upon between the clubs is €40 million ($45 million), with potential add-ons taking it up to €45 million. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed excitement about Timber’s arrival, emphasizing his versatility and quality as valuable assets for the squad. The signing aligns with Arsenal’s defensive strengthening and stylistic ambitions. Timber is expected to make a significant contribution to the team, fitting seamlessly into their system.
