After losing 2-1 to Atletico Madrid in Madrid, Dortmund managed to turn the tie in the second leg in Germany courtesy of securing a 4-2 victory. One effort each from Julian Brandt, Ian Maatsen, Niclas Fulkrug and Marcel Sabitzer helped the Black and Yellow progress to their first Champions League semi-final since reaching the showpiece event under Jurgen Klopp in 2012-13 season. Meanwhile, their preparations for the encounter with PSG haven’t been great as Edi Terzic’s side are heading into the match on the back of a draw and a defeat to Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig respectively in the Bundesliga.
PSG, on the other hand, lost 3-2 to Barcelona in the first leg in Paris, and were then trailing 1-0 in the away-leg in Spain, but the red card incudent of Ronal Araujo turned the tide in the Ligue 1 side’s favour. The Parisians made full use of the man-advantage, levelling the score through Ousmane Dembele’s 40th-minute effort, before Vitinha’s 54th-minute strike and Kylian Mbape’s brace in the final 20 minutes sealed the victory. Meanwhile, Luis Enrique’s side are heading into the match on the back of a 3-3 league-draw with Le Havre at the weekend. The result helped Enrique’s side to secure their 12th French top flight title, having moved 12 points clear of the chasing pack with three games remaining.
