Queens Park Rangers will be looking to extend their winning run to four games in the EFL Championship when they play host to West Bromwich Albion at Loftus Road on Wednesday night. Both sides are heading into the match on the back of 2-1 wins at the weekend, with the hosts getting the better of leaders Leicester City, while the Baggies defeated Coventry City. The Hoops climbed to the 19th spot in the English second tier standings, having collected 38 points from 35 games, level on points with 22nd-placed Stoke City, who are in the relegation zone, but separated by goal-difference. The visitors, meanwhile, are sitting at the fifth position in the table, with 59 points to their name from 35 league-matches, four away from Norwich City, who are just outside the playoff places, in the seventh spot.

QPR have boosted themselves out of the relegation zone courtesy of winning each of their last three games against the likes of Bristol City, Rotherham United and Leicester. On Saturday, the Hoops secured all three points against the best team in the division this season at King Power Stadium thanks to Ilias Chair’s opener in the 38th-minute and Sinclair Armstrong’s effort 12 minutes into the second-half. Meanwhile, the Super Hoops ended the match with just 26% possession and three shots, compared to 18 attempts by Enzo Maresca’s side. Moreover, Marti Cifuentes’ side are unbeaten in their last four games at Loftus Road, recording two wins in the process.
West Brom, on the other hand, strengthened their hold on the fifth spot courtesy of securing all three points versus ninth-placed Coventry on Saturday. The Baggies netted twice in the first-half thanks to Michael Johnston’s sixth-minute opener and Grady Diangana’s effort in the 36th-minute. It was their 17th league-win of the season and they have now taken 14 points from a possible 21. Although West Brom boast the fourth-best home-record in the division, they have struggled on the road, collecting 20 points from 17 outings so far. The Baggies have won only one away-game in 2024, and that was against Plymouth Argyle last month.
