Brighton & Hove Albion will be looking to bounce back from their loss to Liverpool on Saturday when they travel to Gtech Community Stadium to take on Brentford in a Premier League fixture on Wednesday. The visitors were beaten 2-1 by the Reds at Anfield, while the Bees are heading into the match on the back of a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Manchester United at the weekend. The Seagulls are currently occupying ninth spot in the English second tier standings, having collected 42 points from 29 games, while the hosts, who have played a game more, are sitting at the 15th position with 27 points to their name, five clear of the relegation zone.

Brentford gave a good account of themselves against Manchester United at the weekend, looked the better attacking side for the majority of the match, but had to come-from-behind to earn a point. Despite attempting 31 shots with five of them on target, the Bees had only themselves to blame for not taking their chances and went behind through Mason Mount’s opener six minutes into the injury time. However, just when it looked like Thomas Frank’s side would suffer their third straight loss, the hosts got on level terms almost immediately through Kristoffer Ajer to steal a deserved point. Nevertheless, Frank’s men are now winless in their last seven outing, with their last victory coming against Wolverhampton Wanderers back in January.
Brighton, on the other hand, went into the international break on the back of successive wins over Nottingham Forest and AS Roma in the Premier league and Europa League respectively. However, on Saturday, the Seagulls were beaten by Liverpool despite taking the lead through Danny Welbeck’s stunner inside the opening two minutes. It was their ninth league-defeat of the season. With just four points taken from the last available 12, Roberto de Zerbi’s side have dropped to the ninth position in the table. Moreover, the Italian tactician will be concerned about his side’s away-form, losing each of their last four games on the road in all competitions, with an overall score of 10-1.
