The Scottish side are heading into the match on the back of a 2-0 win over Ross County in the league at the weekend, while the visitors were blessed with a weekend off from domestic duties.
PSV Eindhoven will host Rangers in the second leg of their UEFA champions League qualifying playoff tie at Philips Stadion on Wednesday night. The first leg at Ibrox last week ended in a 2-2 draw. The Teddy Bears took the lead through Adallah Sima’s stunning strike on the stroke of half-time, before Ibrahima Sangare’s equaliser was canceled out by Rabbi Matondo’s crisp strike 14 minutes from time. However, with just ten minutes remaining, the Dutch outfit leveled the score again thanks to Luuk de Jong’s towering header from a corner. After the hard-fought draw, the Scottish side travelled to Ross County for their league fixture on Saturday and prevailed 2-0, while the Red and Whites were blessed with a weekend off from domestic duties.

PSV Eindhoven will enter Wednesday’s winner-takes-all encounter with an astonishing 23-game unbeaten run across all competitions since February’s Europa League loss to eventual champions Sevilla. Nevertheless, the Dutch Super Cup winners have now found the back of the net at least twice in five successive matches and have not suffered a single competitive defeat at Philips Stadion so far in 2023, winning 13 and drawing one of their last 14 clashes in front of their own supporters.
Rangers, on the other hand, started off their 2023-24 campaign with a surprise 1-0 Scottish Premiership-defeat away to Kilmarnock on August 5, but then quickly got back on track, recording four wins and two defeats from six games across all competitions. The Gers put two goals past Ross County without reply last time out thanks to first-half effort from Kemar Roofe and James Tavernier. The result extended their unbeaten run to six games in all competitions, while the Teddy Bears have also made the net ripple twice on five occasions in that hot streak, except for the 1-1 draw against Servette in the away leg of their Champions League third qualifying round tie. The Light Blues are now just one win away from reaching their first group stage of Europe’s elite club football competition since the 2018-19 campaign.
