PSV Eindhoven will host Monaco in their second leg clash of the Champions League third round qualifier at the Philips Stadion on Tuesday. The first leg at Stade Louis II had ended 1-1 after Joey Veerman’s opener was canceled out by Axel Disasi’s late goal. Both sides are heading into the match on the back of victories in their respective domestic league fixtures. The hosts thrashed FC Emmen 4-1 in their last game in the Eredivisie last Saturday, while Monaco got the better of Strasbourg in a Ligue 1 match on the same day.

PSV made a dominant start to their league campaign as they put four goals past Emmen last weekend.  Johan Bakayoko opened the scoring, Maikel Kieftenbeld netted an own goal and then Cody Gakpo scored a brace to secure the win for Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s side. Monaco on the other hand secured three points against Strasbourg in their Ligue 1 opener courtesy of goals from Krepin Diatta and Sofiane Diop. Philippe Clement’s side displayed a dominant performance to create 24 goal-scoring chances, with 11 shots on target. Tuesday’s fixture is likely to be high-scoring encounter as both teams play an attacking brand of football.
