Arsenal players have not given up hope on winning the Premier League title despite conceding their lead at the top of the table. The Gunners were sitting at the top of the standings ever so long that it felt like they have already sealed the deal. However, Manchester City kept chasing them till the end and finally took advantage of a poor run of results from the North London side. As things stand, table toppers Man City have 82 points from 34 games, while Arsenal are a point and a place below them having played a game more.

Following the recent run of poor results, many supporters and pundits have given up hope on Arsenal. However, Mikel Arteta and their boys have shown impressive fightback to stay close to Manchester City in the Premier League table. The Gunners have registered a couple of morale-boosting victories over Chelsea and Newcastle United in their last two games. This proves that Arsenal will not go down without a fight. Let us look at the final three league fixtures for the Gunners as the season is coming to a close.

Brighton – May 14 (Home)

This will not be an easy game for the Gunners. Brighton have been one of the teams to watch out for this season. Their attractive style of play from the back is a treat to the eye. Besides, opponents struggle to deal with Brighton’s high pressing and quick closing down. They are having a season to remember and it will be a difficult task for any side to face them in this form. However, Arsenal are also having a memorable campaign and have just recently found good momentum. With the match also happening at the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners will back themselves to get the job done.

Nottingham Forest – May 20 (Away)

In terms of quality and form, Arsenal are far superior than Nottingham Forest. However, this game could prove to be a much trickier fixture than many might have thought. Forest are still very much in the relegation battle. It is unclear what their situation would be when 20th of May arrives. If they are still not clear from the bottom three places, then Mikel Arteta’s side will be in for a tough test. In such a scenario, Forest would give their all and would be ready to die on the pitch in front of the home support. Therefore, Mikel Arteta and his boys would be keen to avoid getting stuck on this contest. On that day though Arsenal’s superior quality could prove to be the difference.

Wolverhampton Wanderers – May 28 (Home)

This could end up being a straight-forward affair for the Gunners. Wolverhampton Wanderers have already guaranteed their safety in the Premier League. They will have next-to-nothing to play for when the final game of the season arrives. If Arsenal are still in the title race at that point, then they could not have hoped for a better fixture. The game is also happening at the Emirates Stadium, hence the Gunners will be the overwhelming favourites in this contest. However, it is unclear what Arsenal will have to fight for on that day, as they very much have to rely on Manchester City’s results too.
