Mbappe, who made his first start since recovering from a thigh injury opened the scoring inside the opening 11 minutes, courtesy of some fine footwork and a neat finish. Neymar, doubled the six minutes later, as he played a nice little one-two with Vitinha inside the box, before tucking in from 10 yards. Meanwhile the visitors pulled one back through right-back Bafode Diakite’s fine header, midway through the first half.
Five minutes into the second half Neymar suffered a freak injury as he twisted his right ankle while trying to wriggle through defenders. The Brazilian was forced to leave the field on a stretcher. Immediately after the unfortunate incident, Lille won a penalty for Marco Verratti’s foul on Tiago Djalo inside the box. Jonathan David stepped up and converted the spot-kick, just before the hour-mark and made the score 2-2. Ten minutes later, PSG went behind for the first time in the match as Jonathan Bamba volleyed home from a sublime long range pass.
