Neymar suffered yet another ankle injury during Paris Saint Germain’s 4-3 Ligue 1 win over Lille on Sunday. The Brazilian found the back of the net inside the opening 17 minutes before twisting his ankle six minutes into the second period. Meanwhile it was a thrilling match at Parc de Princes, which saw both sides producing end-to-end football. Kylian Mbappe scored a brace for the Parisians to level the score at 3-3, before Lionel Messi found the winner five minutes into injury time. It was a much needed victory for the Parisians, having lost three consecutive games across all competitions earlier this month.

Over the years, Neymar has missed several important matches for PSG with injuries. The Brazilian has a poor track record with injuries. The highly talented forward has been often criticized for his lack of fitness. Five minutes into the second half in Paris on Sunday, Neymar was kicked on his calf and fell badly on his right ankle. He was seen wincing as he held his right foot while being carried off the pitch on a stretcher. Meanwhile, during the Qatar World Cup, he had suffered a similar injury during the group stage, but managed to recover quickly and come back for the knockout stages.Neymar has had a very good Ligue 1 season thus far, having recorded 13 goals and 11 assists in 20 matches for the Parisians.

Messi scores a stunning free-kick goal

Mbappe bagged the opener with a sublime piece of skill and a comfortable finish, inside the opening 11 minutes, before Neymar doubled the lead six minutes later. Although Lille netted three times through Bafode Diakite, Jonathan David and Jonathan Bamba, to take a 3-2 lead, Mbappe’s second of the night, three minutes from time, and Messi’s sublime free-kick goal in the injury time sealed the win for PSG.
