Both sides are heading into the match on the back of victories, with the hosts thrashing Sassuolo 6-1 on Tuesday night, while the Old Lady secured a thrilling 3-2 win versus Forsinone on Sunday. Napoli ended their four-game winless run with a dominant performance away to struggling Sassuolo on Tuesday. Although it was the Watermelon Peel who opened the scoring through Oros Racic’s 17th-minute effort, the Blues fought back to make it 3-1 before the break, thanks to Amir Rahmani’s 29th-minute equaliser and Victor Osimhen’s brace (31′ & 41′). Two minutes into the restart, Osimhen completed his hat-trick, while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s double (51′ & 75′) completed the drubbing at Stadio Citta del Tricolore. It was Partenopei’s 11th Serie A-win of the season and they are now aiming to secure back-to-back league-win for the first time since September.
Juventus, on the other hand, just like the Blues, saw their four-game winless run come an end with hard-fought victory over Forsinone in a five-goal thriller in Turin on Sunday. Dusan Vlahovic’s brace helped the Old Lady to make the score 2-2, and just when it looked like the points would be shared with I Canarini, Daniele Rugani scored a dramatic winner 95th-minute winner. Max Allegri’s side have now won 17 Serie A games and it was their ninth home-win this season. Though Juve have taken just one point from their last two away-games, versus leaders Inter Milan (1-0) and Verona(2-2), they have won six of their previous ten matches on the road.
