The Foxes are heading into the match on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Coventry City at the weekend, while the visitors got the better of Sunderland 2-1 last time out.
Leicester City will play host to Ipswich Town in an EFL Championship top of the table clash at King Power Stadium on Monday night. The hosts are sitting at the summit of the English second tier standings, having collected 65 points from 27 games, seven clear of third-placed Tractor Boys, who are level on points with second-placed Southampton. The Foxes are heading into the match on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Coventry City at the weekend, while the visitors got the better of Sunderland 2-1 last time out. Meanwhile, the reverse fixture at Portman Road in December ended in a 1-1 draw after Leicester attacker Stephy Mavididi’s early opener was canceled out by Samy Morsy three minutes into the injury time.

Leicester have been cruising towards promotion, recording 21 wins, two draws and four draws from 27 second tier games so far. The Foxes went into the fixture at Coventry Building Society Arena on Saturday on the back of a 11 game unbeaten run in all competitions, recording nine wins in the process. But Enzo Maresca’s side suffered a rare blip, losing the derby at Coventry despite taking the lead through Kierman Dewsbury-Hall’s opener from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time. Nevertheless, Maresca’s men have been phenomenal at home this term, winning 12 of their 14 fixture at King Power Stadium.
Ipswich, on the other hand, ended their five game winless run in the EFL Championship with a 2-1 victory over Sunderland on Saturday. The Tractor Boys secured their 17th league-win of the season against the Black Cats courtesy of Kayden Jackson’s 33rd-minute equaliser and Conor Chaplin’s winner 15 minutes from time. Prior to this, Kieran McKenna’s side had lost lots of ground in the automatic promotion race, taking just four points from a possible 15. Realistically, Monday’s fixture represents their best chance of potentially hunting down Leicester, who sit seven points clear at the top.
