The International Friendly match between Japan and Peru will take place at Suita City Stadium on Tuesday at 3:25 pm IST.
Japan will aim to secure back-to-back wins as they host Peru in a friendly match at the Panasonic Stadium Suita on Tuesday. Peru, on the other hand, is also seeking a second consecutive victory following their 1-0 win over South Korea in their last match.
During the international window in March, Japan couldn’t secure a victory, drawing 1-1 with Uruguay and losing 2-1 to Colombia. However, the Samurai Blue bounced back in an impressive manner during Thursday’s friendly against El Salvador. With El Salvador reduced to ten men in the third minute, Japan dominated the match and established a commanding 4-0 lead at halftime. In the second half, Keito Nakamura and Kyogo Furuhashi added to the scoreline, resulting in a comfortable win. Notably, this victory marked the first time since November 2014 that Japan had won a friendly match with a six-goal margin, reminiscent of their 6-0 triumph over Honduras. Having secured their first win of the year, Japan now aims to continue their winning streak as they prepare to face Peru, a team they haven’t encountered since June 2011.
Since assuming the role of Peru’s head coach in August 2022, Juan Reynoso has guided the team to four wins, one draw, and two defeats in his seven matches in charge. Following losses to Germany and a draw against Morocco in March, Peru ended their brief winless streak in their friendly against South Korea last Friday. With just two losses in their last 10 friendly matches (alongside six wins and two draws), La Blanquirroja enters Tuesday’s match with a positive outlook. Peru aims to claim their first victory over Japan since May 2005, having failed to win in their previous two encounters with the Samurai Blue.

Peru probable starting lineup: Gallese, Lora, Zambrano, Santamaria, Trauco, Cartagena, Aquino, Cueva, Gonzales, Reyna, Lapadula
