The visitors have collected 70 points from 30 league games so far, two clear of second-placed Arsenal. Manchester United are heading into the match on the back of yet another seven-goal thriller, this time in the Premier League against Chelsea on Thursday, but the Red Devils ended on the losing side at Stamford Bridge. Ten Hag’s men came from behind to lead 3-2 thanks to Alejandro Garnacho’s brace and one effort from Bruno Fernandes, but the Blues netted twice in the extra time through Cole Palmer to take all three points. With just one win coming from their last five league outings, Ten Hag would be under-fire as the Dutch tactician has just eight matches remaining to catch the top four.
Liverpool, on the other hand, have won six of their last seven Premier League matches, with their only blip coming against fellow title-challengers Manchester City in a 1-1 draw earlier in March. The Reds secured their 21st league-win of the season against Sheffield United (3-1) on Thursday night thanks to Darwin Nunez’s 17th-minute opener and second-half efforts from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo. Moreover, Jurgen Klopp’s men have won four of their last five away-game across all competitions, with the victories coming with an overall score of 11-1.
