New England Revolution will be bidding to extend their winning run to four games in the Major League Soccer when they travel to TQL Stadium to face FC Cincinnati on Saturday night. The Revs secured a 2-1 win over Toronto FC last weekend, while the hosts are heading into the match on the back of a disappointing 3-0 loss to DC United. Despite the defeat, the Orange and Blue are occupying top spot in the Eastern Conference standings, having collected 43 points from 19 games, while the visitors are sitting one place behind them, separated by six points.

FC Cincinnati suffered only their second league-defeat of the season against DC United on Saturday courtesy of first-half goals from Pedro Santos, Derrick Williams and Cristian Dajome. The result ended their 14-game unbeaten streak across all competitions, having won 12 matches in the period. Blue and Garys have won 13 top flight games this term and their latest success came against Toronto FC on June 21 thanks to three unanswered goals from Santiago Arias, Luciano Acosta and Dominique Badji. It was their tenth consecutive top flight victory at TQL Stadium this term, making them the first team since the San Jose Earthquakes in 2002 to win their first ten MLS home-matches to begin a season.

New England Revolution, on the other hand, came from behind to secure their tenth league-win of the season against Toronto FC last time out thanks to goals from Bobby Wood and Giacomo Vrioni. It was their third successive win, extending their unbeaten run to five matches in the MLS, scoring 11 goals and conceding six in the process. The impressive run of form helped the Revs to overtake Nashville, who are now sitting at the third position and trailing by just a solitary point, but have played a game more than New England. Meanwhile, Bruce Arena’s men have done decently well on their travels, taking 12 points from nine away-matches in the MLS. Nevertheless, the Revs are winless in their last four away-fixtures, losing two matches and conceding eight goals in the period.
