Cork City will be bidding to make it four successive wins in the League of Ireland Premier Division when they host Bohemians at Turners Cross on Monday. The hosts are currently languishing at the ninth spot in the Irish top flight standings, having collected 18 points from as many games, 12 points clear of rock bottom side UC Dublin. The Bohs, meanwhile, are sitting at the third position with 33 points to their name, just three shy of leaders Shamrock Rovers, who have played a game more. 👍 Declan Devine said Bohemians did not have time to celebrate Friday’s win against Sligo Rovers as focus immediately turned to another tough game away to Cork City at Turner’s Cross.

After going on a six-game losing streak across April and May, Cork City got back to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory against Sligo Rovers on May 20, and then carried that momentum forward with back-to-back success against league-leaders Shamrock Rovers and Drogheda, scoring three goals and conceding none in the process. Last time out, Rebel Army got the better of Drogheda thanks to Tunde Owolabi’s lone goal on the hour mark. It was Cork City’s fifth top flight victory of the season. Cork earned promotion from the second tier last term courtesy of winning the 2021-22 League of Ireland First Division title, so their main aim would be to avoid relegation.
Bohemians, on the other hand, secured their tenth league-win of the season against Sligo Rovers last time out courtesy of two unanswered goals from James Clarke and Declan McDaid. The result ended their four game winless run. The Bohs are 11-time winners of the top division, with their last triumph coming way back in 2009, and they will be hoping to stay in touch with the top two entering a busy period of the season. Meanwhile, Bohemians have won each of their last seven encounters against Cork, and the latest meeting on May 1 say the Bohs secure a dominant 5-0 victory.
Cork City probable starting lineup: Corcoran, Honohan, Coleman, Gilchrist, Walker, Bolger, Healy, Custovic, Owolabi, Coffey, Keating
Bohemians probable starting lineup: Talbot, Benn, Nowak, Radkowski, Flores, Buckley, McDonnell, Coote, Clarke, Twardek, Akintunde
