Addicks have already played six pre-season friendlies this summer, recording four wins and two draws in the process. Meanwhile, last time out, Holden Dean’s men gave a good account of themselves against Championship side Millwall at the Den, taking a 2-0 lead inside the opening 25 minutes courtesy of goals from Karoy Anderson and Charlier Kirk, but the lions came out all guns blazing in the second-half and leveled the score through Kevin Nisbet and Aidomo Emakhu.
Aberdeen, on the other hand, can be proud of their previous Scottish top flight campaign having secured a top three finish for the first time in five season. The Dons have earned themselves a place in the upcoming Europa League qualification and will he hoping to go through to the group stage of Europe’s second tier competition. The Reds began their preparations for the 2023-24 campaign on a positive note, recording back-to-back wins against Turiff United (9-0) and Fraserburgh (2-0), but lost out to English second tier side Preston last time out. The Dandies suffered their first pre-season loss of this summer at Deepdale courtesy of Mads Frokjar’s early brace. Saturday’s game will be their final friendly as Robson Barry’s men begin their new Scottish top flight season away to Livingston on August 5.
