During the current summer transfer window of 2023, football enthusiasts are greeted with daily excitement and intrigue. The constant stream of news includes surprising and delightful updates about clubs securing new signings and parting ways with certain players. For the fans, these decisions can evoke a mix of joy and heartbreak, making every update significant. One particularly noteworthy recent update was that Paris Saint-Germain has made an initial bid of reported €50 million for Atalanta’s striker Rasmus Hojlund, but the Serie A club allegedly demands a higher fee. Manchester United has also expressed interest, submitting a verbal offer of €50 million plus €10 million in add-ons as per reports.

Liverpool’s Fabinho has been excluded from their pre-season trip to Singapore, indicating his expected move to Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia. Negotiations have resumed after a brief break due to payment structure issues, and Al Ittihad aims to secure the Brazil international for a reported amount of £40 million. Fabinho’s absence from the squad during the training camp suggests an imminent transfer, part of Al Ittihad’s summer spending spree following the country’s Public Investment Fund taking control of major clubs.

James Rodriguez is set to join Brazilian club Sao Paulo after terminating his contract with Olympiakos. The Colombian international, known for his stints at Real Madrid and Everton, will move on a free transfer. His seven-month stay at Olympiakos saw him make 23 appearances and score five goals before the contract was terminated. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed Rodriguez’s move to South America for the finalization of the deal.

Bayern Munich arrange meeting with Tottenham for Harry Kane

Bayern Munich’s officials and Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, are scheduled to meet for talks regarding the potential transfer of Harry Kane. Kane, who has been a crucial striker and captain for Spurs, has attracted significant interest from Bayern as they aim to bolster their squad and increase their chances of winning both the Bundesliga and, more importantly, the Champions League once again. Bayern is expected to enhance their reported initial offer of €80 million with additional add-ons to secure the services of the Englishman. However, should the negotiations with Bayern fall through, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) might become an alternative option for Kane’s potential move.

Marco Verratti close to Al-Hilal

Paris Saint-Germain’s experienced midfielder, Marco Verratti, has allegedly come to a personal agreement with Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal. After spending 11 years at PSG and making over 275 appearances, the Italian midfielder is set to move to Saudi Arabia. PSG’s chairman, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has expressed his willingness to part with the 30-year-old for a reported fee of no less than £100 million. Al-Hilal is now poised to enter into negotiations with PSG to finalize the transfer fee for Verratti’s move.

Al-Ahli sign Riyad Mahrez

Riyad Mahrez has joined Al Ahli in the Saudi Pro League from Manchester City, as confirmed by the club. The Premier League champions reached a reported £30 million ($38.7 million) agreement with Al Ahli for the player’s transfer, with £26 million guaranteed and an additional £4 million in add-ons. Mahrez, who expressed his desire to play in Saudi Arabia, enjoyed a successful stint with Manchester City, winning four Premier League titles, including a historic Treble in the previous season. Since joining from Leicester City in 2018, the Algeria international has made 236 appearances for the club. Mahrez joins a growing list of high-profile players leaving England to pursue opportunities in Saudi Arabia, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Jordan Henderson, Roberto Firmino, N’Golo Kante, and Ruben Neves.
