Manchester United will be desperate to secure a victory when they make the trip to Turf Moor to take on Burnley in a Premier League fixture on Saturday night. The Reds Devils have lost their last three outings in all competitions, including a 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich in their Champions League opener on Wednesday night. The hosts, meanwhile, are heading into the match on the back of a 1-1 draw away to Nottingham Forest on Monday night. The visitors are currently occupying 13th spot in the English top tier standings, collecting six points from their opening five league-games, while the Clarets have a game in hand and are languishing at the 19th position, with just a solitary point to their name.

Burnely have made a disastrous start to their return to the Premier League, losing their first three top flight games against the likes of Manchester City, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur, before earning their first point away to Nottingham last time out. Vincent Kompany’s side took the lead through Zeki Amdouni’s 41st-minute opener, but Callum Hudson-Odoi’s 61st-minute equaliser denied Burnley their first top flight victory of the campaign. In doing so, Steve Cooper’s men earned a small slice of revenge for their EFL Cup loss to the Clarets in the second round.
Manchester United, on the other hand, began their 2023-24 campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, but then suffered a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham, before getting the better of Nottingham 3-2. However, Eric Ten Hag’s side have faltered since, losing three back-to-back games against the likes of Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion and Bayern Munich in all competitions. The Red Devils lost out to Bayern in the Champions League last time out despite scoring three goals through Rasmus Hojlund’s 49th-minute effort and Casemiro’s late double. Ten Hag has struggled to find the best combination up front, while the Dutchman has also failed to solidify the back-four.

Manchester United probable starting lineup: Onana, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Reguilon, Casemiro, McTominay, Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford, Hojlund
