Wolverhampton Wanderers will be looking to secure their fourth successive Premier League victory when they travel to Falmer Stadium to take on Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night. Both sides are heading into the match on the back of FA Cup wins, Seagulls defeated Stoke City 4-2 more than two weeks ago, while the Wolves got the better of Brentford 3-2 in the reverse fixture last week. The hosts are currently occupying eighth spot in the English top flight standings, having collected 31 points from 20 games, nine points adrift of the top five, while the visitors are sitting at the 11th position, with 28 points to their name.

Brighton are heading into the match on the back of a four-match unbeaten run across all competitions either side of the New Year. Seagulls have recorded eight league wins this term and their latest top flight success came against Tottenham Hotspur towards the end of 2023. Though Roberto de Zerbi’s side were held to a goalless Premier League draw by West Ham on January 3, they returned to winning ways with a 4-2 success away to EFL Championship side Stoke on January 6. De Zerbi’s men advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup courtesy of Joao Pedro’s brace and one goal each from Pervis Estupinan and Lewis Dunk at Bet365 Stadium. Meanwhile, the south coast side have taken maximum points from their last four clashes against the Wolves, including 4-1 and 6-0 victories in the club’s meetings last year.
Wolves, on the other hand, have been impressive in the last couple of weeks, recording four wins and one draw from their previous five games in all competitions. Gary O’Neil’s side ended 2023 with three successive league-wins against the likes of Chelsea, Brentford and Everton, with an aggregate scoreline of 9-2. Although the Old Gold were held to a 1-1 draw by Brenftord in the FA Cup third round fixture earlier this month, O’Neil’s side prevailed 3-2 in the return leg at Molineux Stadium thanks to equalisers from Nelson Semedo and Nathans Fraser, and Matheus Cunha’s 105th-minute winner. Meanwhile, Wolves’ away-form hasn’t been very great, having lost four of their last six outings in all competitions. Moreover, the Wanderers have kept just one clean sheet in 26 Premier League away games.
