Leeds United will be looking to make it three successive wins in the EFL Championship when they travel to Ewood Park take on Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. The visitors secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Middlesbrough on Saturday, while the Riversiders are heading into the match on the back of a 3-1 defeat away to Sheffield Wednesday. The victory helped the Whites to move to 38 points from 19 league games, seven adrift of second placed Ipswich Town and just one clear of fourth placed Southampton in the English second tier standings. The hosts, meanwhile, are sitting at the seventh position in the table, having taken 28 points from 19 Championship matches, two adrift of the top six.

Blackburn returned to action following the international break with back-to-back wins over Stoke City and Birmingham City. The Riversiders put three goals past the Portters without reply at Bet365 Stadium thanks to Scott Wharton, Andrew Moran and Sammir Smodics. And then, Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side secured their ninth league win of the season against the Blues (4-2) towards the end of last month courtesy of Szmodics’ second-half brace and one goal each from James Hill and Harry Leonard. However, Blackburn couldn’t make it three wins in a row as they were beaten by Sheffield Wednesday last time out at Hillsborough despite the fact that Szmodics found the back of the net. Nevertheless, with three wins posted from their last five outings, the Riversiders are not too far away from becoming a factor in the promotion race.
Leeds United, on the other hand, have won five of their last six outings, scoring 14 goals and conceding just six times in the period. The Whites secured their 11th league win of the season against Middlesbrough on Saturday thanks to first-half efforts from Daniel James, Crysencio Summerville and Joel Piroe, while Boro netted through Emmanuel Latte Lath’s brace before the break. Leeds’ only slip-up during the six-game undefeated streak came away to Rotherham United , the Peacocks being held to a 1-1 draw. Meanwhile, Daniel Farke’s side have been inconsistent on the road this season, recording four wins, three defeats and two draws from eight away league games so far. Their last victory on rival territory came against leaders Leicester City at King Power Stadium on November 4.
